Jimmy Patton was a British comedian who was a regular on hit BBC show the Chuckle Brothers. The Chuckle Brothers were reported to have presented the happy bridegroom with a big comedy ladder, to enable him to climb over the 59-year age gap, and Patton was said to have begun his vows with the words “Do you take me, to you, to me” – a riff on a familiar Chuckle Brothers catchphrase.

It was the Patton Brothers’ example that inspired their younger brothers Barry and Paul to start their own comedy act and in 1982 all four brothers appeared together on the game show 3-2-1 with Ted Rogers, and also on New Faces.
